Updated - 9:38 a.m. Firefighters suspect an abandoned stolen truck that caught on fire is to blame for the scorched five acres of trees and heavy brush near Pacific Park Drive this morning. Neighbors first reported the brush fire around 2:30 a.m.

Fire officials say the fire started at the bottom of a hill and came within 100 feet of homes. Spokane Fire District #9 quickly responded and contained the fire by creating a wet line around it.

Officials said it was a difficult fire to fight because it was located in a heavily wooded area.

To be honest with you, I had no idea what a Poker Run was until I looked it up on Wikipedia, now I am hoping I am a bit more educated.  With that being said, there is one happening this weekend, August 20th, in Deer Park with a portion of the proceeds  benefitting  the Inland Northwest Honor Flight.  The event is open to all; Hot Rods, Classics, Clunkers, or Campers - whatever you ride!  Ride maps will be available at the Run Day Safety Meeting at 9:30am with the Ride starting at 10:00am.  The 1st Card will be at the

School's about to start across the Inland Northwest. While it's an exciting time, it's a very expensive time for families.

A local church is planning a fun event, that will make back-to-school time a little more fun (and less stressful.

This Saturday, August 20,2011, Real Life Ministries Spokane will host Kids Community Day at two locations in Spokane.
