The Northeast Spokane Youth Center says it's just buying time, hoping it's landlord will let the Center slide as it works to raise enough money to buy the building.

Help build a home (or 2 or 3)! Spokane's Habitat for Humanity is in the midst of its Blitz Build. It's building a number of homes in north Spokane, off Mt. Baldy lane, and looking for volunteers.

If you're not familiar with HFH's Blitz Build, it is an accelerated construction effort to build decent, affordable homes in a short period of time (one to three weeks).

It might be warming up outside, but SNAP is already looking ahead to next winter and needs your help finding downed trees.

SNAP teams up with the Airway Heights Correctional Center for the Firewood Program, which has inmates cut, stack and deliver wood to families who rely on wood as their sole source of heating during the winter months.

Over $68,000 in wood was delivered to 340 Spokane County homes last winter season, according to SNAP.
