New Basketball Court at Corbin Park

The Corbin Park neighborhood is now home to a renovated NBA-sized basketball court. In a partnership with Spokane Hoopfest Association, Ronny Turiaf and the Heart to Heart Foundation, are some of the names you'll find hand painted on the newly surfaced court. This is the first court renovation by the Heart to Heart Foundation and the 27th community court project for the Spokane Hoopfest Association.

Liquid Transformations at 1707 E. Holyoke has finally opened and is ready to wow Spokane with a cool Hydrographic process. Steve, Jeff and Derek had known each other for many years and had also worked together, they wanted to do something on their own and be their own boss. Liquid Transformation was born and after the building was found and several months of clean up and renovation they have started "printing" . The process is simple you have a sheet with a design on it, layed out in water and sprayed with an activator...the paper dissolves and the ink remains, undisturbed.

395 Crash Victim Identified

395 Crash Victim Identified

The Washington State Patrol has identified a man killed in a police chase in North Spokane County Monday afternoon. 

50-year-old Daniel Marinovich struck a logging truck at the Wandermere bridge on Highway 395 about a mile after his vehicle ran over spike strips. 

Deputies are not certain whether the spike strips caused the driver to lose control and crash into the truck.

Idaho State Police contacted his next of kin and W-S-P released his name late Tuesday night.

Young Muscians Compete At BOBfest

People in Riverfront Park got serenaded with the sweet sounds of young local bands Saturday. 12 teen bands competed in BOBfest 2011, Battle of the Bands at the Clocktower Meadow.

The competition gives young musicians a chance to perform in public and get critiqued by local judges. This year, Better Than Yesterday took first place. The band is made up students from Ferris High School and Odyssey Middle School. Lewis and Clark students in the band Battlesound got second place.

The Salvation Army will have free movies on Fridays starting at dusk  on the wall in the park ...Ruby and Indiana...204 e. Indiana to be exact.. These are family friendly movies for all ages through the summer...they do sell popcorn and soft drinks..no smoking or alcohol allowed.  you can bring your own treats. Rogers students, Jessica, Alysha and Noel ,are painting the mural . They are art students donating their time and creativity.  Capt. Kyle would love to see you bring your family and enjoy some wonderful movies as you spend healthy time as a family under the stars.

A competition to find the best heavy equipment operator in the Inland Northwest in underway at the Spokane County Fairgrounds.  The Western States Rodeo consists of five challenges that tests the operators skills and speed.  Events include stacking tires with a backhoe, navigating a skid steer through an obstacle course while balancing a large pipe on a pallet and picking up soccer balls with an excavator.  Each event is timed and the competitor with the fastest overall time is the winner.  “Cat equipment is known for its reliability and durability, so it is only fitting

Police Say Dog Blamed For Wreck

Spokane Police say a driver blamed his dog for distracting him and causing a wreck at Howard and Maxwell this morning.   The man was headed eastbound on Maxwell when he ran a red light and was t-boned by a Spokane City Water Department Pickup truck.  The man suffered minor injuries.   Firefighters delayed extricating the man from the car because the dog was in the backseat.  A family member removed the pit bull clearing the way for crews to get him out of the car on a backboard.
