Get off the couch and raise money for Cat! |

Sorry to break the news to you, but winter is coming. Before long, the snow, sludge and darkness will be thrust upon us like some sort of midieval punishment. So, now's the time to get out and enjoy one last burst of energy before we hibernate until mid-April. And the 5k run sponsored by Fleet Feet Spokane will also raise money for a Spokane woman who needs your help.

Fleet Feet's 5k run is Saturday, November 3rd. All proceeds go to help Cure for Cat, a group dedicated to raising money for 24-year old Cat Davis. Davis, who kxly4 profiled last month, has Scleroderma and needs an expensive stem cell transplant to save her life.

The 5k begins at Northwood and Farwell, along the Children of the Sun Trail. Register before October 27th and you'll pay $25 to participate. After that date, the cost goes up to $30. You can register online here.

Also, Fleet Feet will turn over some of the profits earned during this weekend's grand opening and donate them to Cat. Saturday between 10 am and 2 pm, 20% of the proceeds will go to Cat. It's the perfect time to buy shoes or gear that you can show off during the Cure for Cat 5k.
