Spring cleaning is not reserved for just for your home. There’s a neighborhood outside your front door that could use a little sprucing up.
If you’re looking to volunteer some time on Saturday morning to help clean up a park, street or some other part of your neighborhood. Here’s a list of different clean ups happening around the city.
It’s not a complete list, but if you know of a clean up that we’ve missed, comment below with the details and we’ll add them.
Underhill Park Clean Up
700 S. Fiske
Saturday, April 21st at 9:30 a.m. to Noon
Block party follows the clean up from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the East Central Community Center
Northeast Community Center Clean Up
4001 N. Cooke St.
Saturday, April 21st at 9 a.m. to Noon
Clean up involves painting the building exterior, weeding and raking, painting gazebo and benches, laying sod in playground and pulling big shrubs in front of building.
South Hill’s Lincoln Street Clean Up
Lincoln & 25th
Saturday, April 21st at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Clean up volunteers are working on the storm gardens along the street. Afterwards they’re heading up to The Scoop for coffee and ice cream.
You can continue your Earth activities by also attending the Earth Day event downtown on Main Ave. from Division to Browne. The street in that area will be closed from 8 a.m. to Midnight for environmental activities.
