Hit a home run for Beckham | Events
Tomorrow's forecast calls for warm and sunny weather, and there may be no better way to spend the afternoon than heading to the baseball diamond to help Beckham Dennis.
Beckham is an 11 year old Westview Elementary student who's recovering from a terrible car crash during a family road trip to Tennessee in July. He suffered traumatic brain injuries and is still in treatment at St. Luke's rehab. As you can imagine, his family is facing some enormous medical bills.
Tomorrow (Sunday, Sep. 30th) Beckham's supporters will host a fundraising home run derby at Franklin Park in North Spokane. For $5, you get 10 pitches, and 100% of the proceeds will go to Beckham's family. There will be age brackets and great prizes for anyone who hits a home run, courtesy of the Spokane Indians, Arby's, McDonald's and other generous donors.
The fundraiser lasts from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., but if you can't make it, there are other ways to help. Just contact Beckham's family through the "Prayers for Beckham" Facebook page.
