The Lainsons' first successful stop was to NAI Black, where their targeted individual was absent, but licensed assistant, Jenna Nichol, ran out to the lobby when she saw the goat. It was her first time holding a baby goat.
After Nine Years, Rusty Gets Groomed
After missing for nine years - Rusty needed a little grooming. No amounts of combing could remove the mats. Rusty was ready to face the razor. Below is a progress of his hair cut. He was given what the groomer called, a Hawaiian cut. He got to keep his mane, the fluff to his tail and the hair on his boots. Even after the shave, Stephanie still called him, a "handsome boy."
The Maid in the Shade Takes Flight over North Idaho
The B-25 Mitchell Bomber takes off from Pappy Boyington Field for its tour of stops throughout the United States. - The crew of the Maid in the Shade have to turn the propeller six times prior to each flight.
The Flying Irish's First Ever Undie-Run
The crowds gathered outside O'Doherty's Thursday evening for the weekly Flying Irish meetup. They're fanatical runners who meet weekly to run various routes through Spokane. When I say crowd, I mean it's a mass of people and last night, it was a mass of people in their underwear. For the first time ever, their run was themed, the Undie-Run. Tim Diehl, Flying Irish/Batman, was there to protect the Flying Irish from all that is evil.
Spirit Lake Wraps Up the Summer Season
Janice Ufford was taking her boat out of the Spirit Lake water. She and her husband, Leigh, caught 15 fish today and another 15 yesterday. "They're about 10-inches. We're going to smoke them for a family barbecue tonight," Janice said. They had been trolling the waters since around 7 a.m.
Occupy Spokane Protesters Ordered to Remove Tent Shelters
Violations of the Spokane Municipal Code led to the removal of several tent shelters. Protesters behind Occupy Spokane were notified on Thursday of their violation and asked to pack it up by 6 a.m. the next morning. By that time, they were still out there with their tents with more than a dozen huddled together during the cool early morning weather.
Busking Electro-Violinist Visits Spokane
Bryson Andres took up musical residence around River Park Square. When Andres first arrived, Broken Mic poetry host, Mark Anderson heard him performing, loved his music so much, and texted as many friends as he could: “Street performer in front of Macy’s downtown. Violinist, some of the best performance I’ve ever heard. Get down here people, somebody Twitter it! Facebook!”

It was a melting pot of pop culture at Bliss Hair Studio just before Halloween.Up front and center of the salon was Michael Jackson. One of the many qualities that made up Jenny Greer’s MJ costume was the jacket.

Driving by Matt and Joni Thatcher's house on South Myrtle Lane, you might think they are the victims of a Halloween prank. Sunday afternoon, 30 pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors littered their front porch. How did they get there? It depends on who you ask.
Spokane Humane Society Takes In Animals Displaced By Arden Fire
A fire destroyed one facility at the Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary in Arden Wednesday morning. The Spokane Humane Society were there at their side ready to help. The took in five dogs displaced by the fire that had killed one puppy and two cats in the fragile animal facility.
Holmes and Bemiss Students Go on Holiday Shopping Spree
Children from Holmes and Bemiss Elementary poured out of The Salvation Army’s red bus outside JC Penney’s on Friday afternoon. They were chosen by school counselors to participate in the organization’s annual “Clothe-a-Child” program.

North Spokane Market Prepares 3,500 Pounds of Holiday Crab
It seems unusual to throw a little crab in the mix, but it’s a holiday tradition for families all over the nation - and even the world. To prepare - Williams Seafood Market, located at 2118 N. Ruby, Ste. A, is cleaning and gutting over 3,500 pounds of crab that can feed about 7,000 people. It's the busiest time of the year for crab.

These may not be photos of natural disasters or crowning moments in world history, but they're moments from our community and to us - that matters. It's been a visual year for the Inland Northwest with moments above Lake Coeur d'Alene in a historic B-25, tearful moments for animals torn apart by a shelter fire and businesses finding success in the little things - like crab. These are some of the best moments caught on camera for 2011.
